The railway was built between 1924
and 1940. It took almost 70 years from
the first plans to the railway was
finished. The track stretches 20 km up
steep mountain-sides, from sea level
to over 800 meters. Almost all of the
20 tunnels were built by hand.
On display in the exhibition are several
draisins and rail-inspection trolleys, a
small engine and a huge El 9
locomotive.
If you are interested in model building,
the museum has a great version of the
station area. Several model trains and
wagons from the Flåm Railway are
also on display.
Entrance to the museum is free.
